1983: Marc was born and raised in Hamburg.
After passing Abitur Diploma (equivalent to A Level) he began his coffee career with a dual apprenticeship-studies at Institute for International Trade (Am Lämmermarkt) and Bernhard Rothfos GmbH (now Neumann Kaffee Gruppe GmbH (NKG)), both in Hamburg.
2005: He then extended his green coffee skills in the Specialty coffee trade as a green coffee trader at InterAmerican Coffee GmbH (NKG) in Hamburg.
In 2009 Marc moved to Nairobi/Kenya to manage the entire green coffee trade and operations of Neumann Kaffee Gruppe (NKG) in Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda.
Since 2015 Marc lives back in Hamburg. He initially worked as a senior green coffee trader and strategy manager at InterAmerican Coffee (NKG) before he resigned from that position to open his own coffee roastery Mare Kaffee http://www.mare-kaffee.de and his professional consultancy service
2003: After passing Abitur Diploma (equivalent to A Level) and finishing one year of community service at German Red Cross, he began his coffee career with a dual apprenticeship-studies at Institute for International Trade (Am Lämmermarkt) and Bernhard Rothfos GmbH (now Neumann Kaffee Gruppe GmbH (NKG)), both in Hamburg.
2009: Marc and his familiy moved to Nairobi/Kenya to manage the entire green coffee trade and operations of Neumann Kaffee Gruppe (NKG) in Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda.
Marc has:
- been in a handful of coffee origin countries
- met hundreds of coffee farmers
- seen thousands of coffee farms
- cupped hundred thousands of coffees
- traded millions of coffee bags from all over the world
